I Sacrifice…I gain…I am… I protect… We are…

Title: I Sacrifice…  I gain…  I am…  I protect…  We are…
Rating: G
Word Count: 347
Summary: The meaning behind the words sacrifice, gain, am, protect, and are to those that hold the Power.

Author’s Note:  Since Samurai made its premiere, I’ve been having Power Rangers on the brain (along with Super Sentai due to the awesomeness that is Gokaiger.)  The theme of both Shinkenger and Samurai is both the same.  They sacrifice their former lives, they gain life values, they become, and they protect.  And that’s how this ficlet come to mind.  Just because the previous seasons didn’t mention it out right, didn’t mean that they didn’t go through the same concepts.

A New Team Unites

Title: A New Team Unites
Word Count: 502
Summary: A quite Sunday afternoon was interrupted and two people soon find out that they need to add more people to the list.

Author’s Note: Oh my god! I’m writing! This popped into my mind after I finished watching the premiere of Power Rangers Samurai. Regardless of my initial perception of the episode, I will watch more before I pass judgment on whether or not I will continues watching.

The quietness of a Sunday afternoon was disturbed by a loud piecing sound emitting from the basement of the house. The door to the basement opened with a hissing sound, revealing two adults, one male and one female. The male sat himself in the chair in front of the monitors and typed in his password. The female situated herself in the neighboring chair. The alarmed stopped ringing and a window popped onto the monitor showing a group of monsters terrorizing a city and a lone red ranger fighting them.

“What the hell is that?” A hint of Australian accent was heard as she pointed to the monitor.

“That, according to the computer, is a Mooger,” he responded.

“A Mooger?” she raised her eyebrow. “Sounds like booger.”

“Billy and Hayley upgraded the system, not me. Evil doesn’t need to make sense to be evil.”

“True. Man, I was just getting use to all the peace and quiet we’ve been this past year.”

“Evil never truly sleeps. You and I both know this personally, kitty.”

“All too well.” She turned her attention back to the computer and pulled up an information window. “It says here that the Samurai Rangers fight against these Moogers foot soldiers and the Nighloks, whose master is called Master Xandred. Their ultimate goal is to flood the Sanzu River with human tears so that this Xandred can come into the living world and take out. Geezes, aren’t they original.” She turns to her husband, “So what color are you trying out for this time around Sir Multicolor? Blue? Yellow? Silver? Gold? You better stay away Pink!”

“Hey, it was either me or Dino Freak,” he defended playfully. “Looks like SamuraiRed is doing pretty good by himself anyway. And besides, we’re ninja, not Samurai.”

The two turns their eyes to the screen and watched as the lone Samurai ranger took down the group of Moogers down with his sword. The ranger then turned around and began walking away from the scene.

“Not bad. Though I wonder where his teammates are.”

“They’ll probably arrive later, since it says here that they only unite when the Nighloks attack. This is probably the first attack from the Nighloks in at least 20 years, which was slightly before our time.”

“Well, I better add at least five more people to the list for our annual reunion later this year. We’re holding this time right?

“Yeah. Thank goodness we live a secluded area or it’ll be hard to fit all of us without renting a place.”

She got up and kissed her husband before heading towards the stairs. As she opened the door, she realized something, “Don’t you still have papers to finish grading Tommy?”

Tommy froze as his brain backtracked his weekend. “Crap. Thanks for reminding me Kat.” He quickly followed his wife.

“Honestly, I have no idea how you manage to get a Ph.D. with your memory.” Kat said.

“But you love me regardless.” He kissed her on the cheek.

“I love you regardless.”

Untitled PR fic prologue

After the defeat of Daishi by the Jungle Fury Rangers, everything was quite normal on Earth. Everyone went on with their everyday lives as usual. However, peace did not last long. Within the next two years, strange electronic events were occurring all over the world. These events were no strange accidents at first, but as they kept occurring, the few selected Power wielders knew immediately that something was wrong in the balance of good and evil. To those that did not wield the Power, it may seem that the retired Rangers took up their mantle because of their sense of heroism. However, that was not the case. It wasn’t the sense of heroism; it was the need to protect their planet. It was because they wielded the Power that they knew it was their responsibilities to stand up. Although they were retired, responsibilities never die. Their numbers were small compared to numerous events around the world, but they manage to spread themselves evenly throughout the world.

In light of events, outworlders did not much lend help, fearing that these strange electronic events might somehow migrate into their world. But help was always given when need in the Ranger world. Cities were rebuild to with stand the invasions with a high defense mechanism. In the second year of the events, it was now known that a computer virus known as Venjix had taken over all of electronic world and rendered communications useless. With the help of the Karovans, the Rangers were able to finalized the fortification of certain cities all over the world to with stand the destruction that was about to come.

In the year 2011, the machines took over completely and forced the survivors to flee into the domed cities, the Rangers included. But hope was not lost. The rangers soon learned of a government program called “Alphabet Soup,” and that the creator of the Venjix virus was someone called K. Upon infiltration of said program, they soon learn that K was the codename for an eighteen year old girl who was abducted fifthteen years ago and was forced to live under harsh conditions. Because of the conditions that the girl had lived through, she did not remember her own name, opting to just being what the government was called her, K. Venjix was originally supposed to help K break out of the facility in 2010, but she was soon found and contained before she could install a firewall to contain the program. Thus, without the firewall, Venjix was released and slowly began to take over the electronic world.

After the Rangers rescued K from the government, she began to develop weapons to counter Venjix. The Rangers knew she was innocent at heart and provided her with all the equipment that she would need. They stationed her in the domed city of Corinth, somehow knowing that it was the place that would end it all. And with that she developed the RPM morphers. Three new Rangers were chosen to defend the city with four more joining later. With the combine force of the RPM Rangers, they defeated Venjix and brought the age of the machines to destruction and restored the Earth to its former beauty.
